In fact, I’d go as far as saying that you’re going to be spoilt for choice with all the best things to do in Benidorm once you arrive. This is why it’s so important to whittle down a list of your firm favourite spots so you can maximise your holiday.
From gorgeous walks, lively bars, golden sandy beaches and pretty towns close by, Benidorm is a great hub to explore more of the Costa Blanca.
Still popular to this day, Benidorm did lose some of its appeal years back. That being said, there seems to be something of a resurgence of people heading back to the golden shores of Benidorm.
So, to help you along your way, I wanted to share some of the very best things to do in Benidorm that you should try. Some are right in the heart of Benidorm, whilst others are just outside. Whatever the case, I think you’re going to love them.
Have the best holiday in Benidorm and enjoy the Costa Blanca.
1.) Levant Beach
Levante beach in Benidorm is easily the most popular beach in Benidorm to visit during the warm summer months. surrounding the city, it’s one of the best things to do in Benidorm if you fancy a day at the beach, all without any stress of searching for amenities.
You see, it’s a totally fun beach to visit and well worth renting a lounger and umbrella for the day.
Best of all, it has heaps of restaurants, bars, and cafés that line the promenade.
Once here, you can choose to ride pedal boats, and jet skis or just relax on the sandy beach under the sun.
One thing to note; it can get busy in the summer months. If that’s not your thing, head to one of the smaller coves or beaches like Racó del Conill.

2.) Go Hiking At Sierra Helada
Sierra Helada is a natural park with a 5-mile-long mountain area. With towering cliffs on its seaward side, visiting is one of the best things to do in Benidorm if you want an escape into the great outdoors.
It’s the best place to go hiking, or just walk and get an amazing view of spectacular landscapes. For great views, start at this trailhead from Camino del Faro towards Albir Lighthouse.

3.) Mediterranean Balcony
Whenever you visit Benidorm you must not miss visiting the Mediterranean Balcony. Truth be told, it will be hard to miss and it’s a really popular spot.
This area divides the two beaches, of Platgeta del Mal Pas and Platja de Llevant, and offers wonderful views over the Mediterranean Sea.
Honestly, the colours of the deep blue sea are beautiful and you can enjoy the amazing weather there. Well, on a gorgeous sunny day, at least.
Also, you might be lucky and spot some of the live musicians performing on the Mediterranean balcony. It’s a pretty lovely experience, especially at sunrise or sunset.
Though, I’m never up for sunrise!

4.) Cross of Benidorm (La Cruz de Benidorm)
Best visited for the views, the Cross of Benidorm is well worth visiting if you want to explore the wider area.
You see, from here you’ll be able to take in the views for miles down the coast.
As it goes, the cross was constructed in the 1950s for the protection of the town. Which seems to have done its job?
Best of all, you can go to the top of the hill by car, bike or on your own two feet. Though, the latter will be a little tough in the heat of summer.
The views from the Cross of Benidorm are splendid.
5.) Guadalest or Mountain village of Guadalest
Guadalest is a small town sitting on top of a mountain that you have to visit when in Benidorm. Around 30 minutes in the car, it’s a perfect day trip to explore a historic Spanish town that’s just so quaint.
Once here, you can explore its famous San Jose Castle and other museums. This place gives incredible views from the top, too.
Oh, and for some lovely views, head to the Lookout at the Walls. You’ll see right across the lake.
6.) Altea
Hands down, Altea is one of the most attractive and delightful towns in Spain and is easily reached from Benidorm. After all, it’s only 15 minutes away.
This old town has beautiful white buildings with narrow cobbled streets and stunning beaches (like LP beach). For a tasty bite, head over to Unique Restaurant on the seafront. Their Artichokes with ham is tasty!
Afterwards, have a little wander around Altea and explore the independent shops, coffee spots and the church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo.
Visiting is one of the best things to do in Benidorm for a little day trip.

7.) Benidorm Old Town
A trip to Benidorm would not be completed unless you visit the Benidorm Old Town. It has quite a different vibe from the promenade and is well worth taking a gander once you’re in Benidorm itself.
You will have the Old Spanish vibes in the Benidorm Old Town. You can find many ancient and historical places there and eat at good restaurants.
Looking for a place that has a variety of little craft stores, then Benidorm Old Town is the perfect place for you. It’s got loads of little shops and heaps of eateries.
For good tapas, head down Santo Domingo Street (Tapas Alley) and try some of the restaurants that serve up some yummy pintxos, tapas and paella. Easily, popping into the old town is one of the best things to do in Benidorm when you’re feeling peckish.

8.) Villajoyosa
Villajoyosa is a historic town that stretches alongside a wide sandy beach and is only 15 minutes away by car. Villajoyosa is famous for its colourful townhouses and totally gorgeous for a day trip.
You can enjoy many water sports there and visit its market or explore its historic buildings and places to visit.
Make sure to spend some time on Varadero Beach and stop by Zerca Restaurant for their yummy lunches. I know it’s not typically Spanish but the homemade pizza is so good here.

9.) Algar Waterfall
Algar Waterfalls is the perfect place to have a day trip from Benidorm. You can go up to the hill and see the beautiful waterfalls that have formed over thousands of years in the area. Long before Benidorm was even a place!
Taking around 30 minutes by car, you can easily visit here and also include a visit to the DinoPark if you’re travelling with children. It’s a fun day out. It’s a great place to enjoy yourself with your family.
That being said, if you want to make your day trip really easy, book this incredible tour that takes in Guadalest and the Algar Waterfalls. All with enough time for a dip, too! Just be sure to book in advance, the tours fill up fast at peak times.

10.) Terra Mitica Theme Park
Fancy a day of thrills in Benidorm? Then get yourself over to Terra Mitica that’s just on the outskirts of Benidorm itself. Just be sure to book these tickets before you visit; the park fills up in summer.
This totally fun theme park highlights Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations and has heaps of rides for the whole family. Honestly, Terra Mitica has something for everyone.
Make sure to hop on the river rapids (and cool down in the summer sun), head on the Cataratas del Nilo (a big log flume-type ride) and ride Titanide. The latter is a hair-rasing rollercoaster that’s as exciting as it is terrifying.
11.) Poniente Beach
Love a good beach? Then you need to visit Poniente Beach. It’s lovely and has heaps of restaurants and cafes along the promenade.
Head in the surf and cool down or stroll on its long promenade which is so nice in the early evening. Also, don’t forget to take in the views from Music Lookout. It’s lovely.
