Home minister Shah didn’t heed Rahul security breach complaint, says Congress | India News

NEW DELHI: With CRPF countering Congress’s allegations about breach of Rahul Gandhi’s security, the principal opposition party has protested with home minister Amit Shah that their complaint was not dealt by him, and instead forwarded to the very agency against which concerns were raised. Congress said the development has “compounded the issues” instead of “solving them”.
All-India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal shot off a rejoinder to Shah this week, a day after DIG, CRPF, wrote to Congress on December 28. He wrote: “Most importantly, we regret to point out that our previous letter was addressed to the home minister, in whose judgement we had placed our trust. But instead, we received a reply from the very agency against which we are raising concerns. This is unacceptable since it does not solve our issues, but compounds them in more ways than one.”
Rahul himself questioned the charge that he has breached security protocol by telling reporters on Saturday that “government wants me to do Bharat Jodo Yatra in a bulletproof car” which is not possible.
