Industry insiders have already predicted that ‘Pathaan’ might enjoy a huge opening of around Rs 40 crore and if it continues the spectacular momentum in the evening and night shows Shah Rukh Khan’s spy-actioner might well surpass the opening day business of ‘Happy New Year’ (Rs 44.97 crore) to become Shah Rukh’s biggest opener of all-time.
While everyone is eagerly waiting for the film to hit the theatres on January 25 a well-known Kolkata-based astrologer has predicted ‘Pathaan’s box office fate and it will surely excite SRK’s fans. The astrologer, Sohini Sastri, feels that this film will emerge as Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest opener in his illustrious career.

“If you look closely his top five highest openers are ‘Happy New Year’ with Rs 44.97 crore, ‘Chennai Express’ with Rs 33.12 crore, ‘Dilwale’ with Rs 21 crore, ‘Raees’ with Rs 20.42 crore, ‘Zero’ with Rs 19.35 crore and ‘Fan’ with Rs 19.20 crore. And the most interesting thing is the top two openers in SRK’s career, ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘Chennai Express’, features Deepika Padukone. So, we can definitely expect ‘Pathaan’ to grab one of the first spots since the superhit pair is once again collaborating after a long time. Also, the film releasing on Wednesday, instead of the usual Friday release, is a positive thing. Since Wednesday is a day of music and arts it will boost ‘Pathaan’s success probability,” explained the renowned astrologer when ETimes reached out to her.
After receiving a massive response in the overseas markets since the advance bookings started the makers recently opened the booking windows across India also and as expected the response is simply overwhelming. Trade experts feels ‘Pathaan’ has the responsibility to bring back Bollywood from its so-called deep slumber and it can even set the momentum for the rest of the year.
