With the grand success of his film Godfather and the international acclaim of his son’s film RRRthe year 2022 ended on a high note for superstar Chiranjeevi. But that was just the professional aspect. During a recent event, the actor couldn’t stop rejoicing about a priceless moment that he had in 2022. He recalled the time his son Ram Charan broke the news about his wife Upasana’s pregnancy. The soon-to-be grandfather, who is in the midst of promoting his film Waltair Verayyarevealed about how he got emotional when the news was presented to him.

Readers will recall that Ram Charan and Upasana had taken off to Japan along with the team of RRRincluding director S.S. Rajamouli and co-actor Junior NTR to promote the film. It released in the Asian country a few months ago and the team was present to interact with their fans out there. Chiranjeevi revealed that when they returned from the trip, they broke this good news to the superstar and his wife.

During an interaction recently, he was quoted saying, “We have waited for this news for over six years. After coming back from Japan where they promoted RRRboth of them made us sit and shared this happy news. It was one of my happiest moments. I had tears in my eyes.”

Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela tied the knot in June 2012 and the couple took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their first child in December 2022.

Meanwhile, coming to Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Verayyathe film also stars Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan in lead roles along with Catherine Tresa in a pivotal role. Directed by Bobby, it is slated to release on January 13 in Telugu along with a dubbed version in Hindi.
