Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui talked about how actors should not even talk about box-office collections and ticket sales because he views it as a ‘corruption of craft’ and said that it is the producer’s responsibility. In an interview recently, Nawazuddin also said that the actors who charge Rs. 100 crores per film are the ones who end up harming the film. He stated that whenever a film’s budget is beyond the limits of viability, it will be a flop. The actor will next be seen in the film Haddi, which is all set to release in 2023.
Moving on, former actor and writer Twinkle Khanna recently shared her tips for a young and healthy-looking body and mind via her channel Tweak India. The author shared seven secrets to her fitness routine. One of them was inspired by the veteran actor Waheed Rehman herself. Apart from tips such as to keep learning something new, learning to connect with nature, reading more books, and using sunscreen, she added that she ate only small meals for dinner – a tip she learned from the older star. She said that – When one eats less at night, their body rests instead of spending energy in burning down their food.
The first song from Pathaan, Besharam Rang, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has dropped. There’s been much hype about the song, owing to Deepika’s look in a gold swimsuit and SRK’s man-bun look. The story of the film is still more or less a secret, as a bid to increase more hype around the film. The sizzling song has been shot on the island of Mallorca and the focus is on SRK and Deepika’s chemistry in the first number from Pathaan. The film also stars John Abraham in a pivotal role. Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, and marks SRK’s return to the big screen after 5 years.
Meanwhile, actor Hrithik Roshan recently opened up about the struggles he faced in life and how he learnt how to overcome them. He talked about his painful school days, his speech impediment, spinal problems and how he almost let go of the idea of becoming an actor, as doctors advised him to do so. He added that he was filled with a sense of hopelessness for several months. However, he found a ‘lesson’ in all the pain and trauma – he learnt how to be strong, and persevere despite all his problems. Hrithik was last seen in the action thriller Vikram Vedha. While the film did not perform up to expectations, Hrithik’s performance received much praise.
Filmmaker Guneet Monga and Delhi-based entrepreneur Sunny Kapoor tied the knot in a traditional Sikh ceremony in Mumbai on Monday, 12th December. Both Sunny and Guneet looked their resplendent best in wedding outfits. While Guneet was dressed in a shimmery blue and pink lehenga, Sunny looked regal in a white sherwani. While Guneet is a known film producer and is the founder of the production banner Sikhya Entertainment, which has bankrolled films like Pagglait and Lunchbox, Sunny owns Delhi-based fashion apparel. The two had met via a dating app.
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, on Sunday, 11th December remembered veteran actor Dilip Kumar on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary. Anupam took to his Instagram and went down memory lane to share a glimpse of their film Karma. In the photo, he is seen alongside the late star. Released in the year 1986 ‘Karma’ also starred actors Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Sridevi and Poonam Dhillon in the lead roles and went on to become a blockbuster hit. Dilip Kumar breathed his last on July 7, 2021, in Mumbai at the age of 98. His acting career spanned over six decades and he had featured in over 65 films his career including Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam and Naya Daur.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor believes that “art transcends geographical boundaries”. The actor, who had previously worked with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, said he was open to the idea of collaborating with talents from the neighbouring country to shoot a film in Saudi Arabia. He went on to congratulate the Pakistani film industry for the blockbuster success of The Legend of Maula Jatt, headlined by Fawad Khan. Ranbir was in conversation at the Red Sea Film Festival, where he received the Variety International Vanguard Actor Award. On the work front, he starred in Shamshera and Brahmastra this year and has two releases lined up for 2023– Luv Ranjan’s untitled next and Animal.
Lastly, Producer Jay Shewakramani is basking in the success of his recent offering Freddy which starred Kartik Aaryan. With the thriller film receiving a positive reception on its digital release, Jay is now looking forward to his next film “Devotion of Suspect X”, which marks the digital debut of actor Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film directed by Sujoy Ghosh is the adaption of the novel of the same name by Japanese writer Higashino Keigo. The film, which is in its post-production stage, will have Kareena in a new avatar. Confirming that he’s looking at mid of 2023 for the film’s release, Jay said that a producer needs to take a project to an actor “they can’t say no to”.
