NEW DELHI: Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday hit out at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his sister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha was summoned for questioning in the Delhi excise policy case.
“Is everyone in the BJP a brother of Raja Harishchandra,” the KTR asked.
Stepping up his attack on PM Modi, the BRS working president said that the double engine government that the Prime Minister talks about “is the economic engine of Adani, and the political engine of Modi”.
“Why does PM not speak of allegations against him, on Adani? We’re saying Gautam Adani is a proxy of Narendra Modi. Will he take a lie detector test? Does he have the guts to come in front of the country,” KTR asked.
The Adani Group has come under fierce scrutiny since US short-seller Hindenburg Research accused the company of engaging i’brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud’.
Kavitha, daughter of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Thursday asserted that she has done nothing wrong and would face the Enforcement Directorate. She alleged that the central government was ‘using’ the ED as the BJP could not gain a backdoor entry in Telangana.
“We will face Enforcement Directorate, we have not done anything wrong … I urge PM Ways to reduce prices, give more subsidies and jobs. What will you get by torturing people like us?” she asked.
