Momentum gained by UP is auspicious for India’s growth, says Amit Shah | India News


LUCKNOW: Praising CM Yogi Adityanath’s UP for its transformation from one of the “Bimaru” states to the “engine of the country’s growth”, PM Ways said at the inaugural session of the three-day Global Investors Summit here on Friday, “If India is attaining the status of a bright spot for the entire world, then UP is providing the much-needed energy and driving its growth.”
Union home minister Amit Shah invoked a law of physics to highlight how BJP-governed UP had attained “momentum” in all respects because it had “both mass and velocity”.
“The momentum gained by UP is auspicious for the country’s growth,” he said.
Defence minister Rajnath Singhwho is also the Lucknow MP, accused erstwhile governments run by parties now in the opposition of creating roadblocks for trade and industry with their “pseudo-secularism”.
“Even existing industries were pushed into crisis-like situations. Then came a time when despite having all the resources, people hesitated to go into trade and commerce,” he said.
Singh said the Modi government had replaced red tape with a red carpet for investors, following the path shown by the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee when he was at the helm. He hailed Modi not just as PM but also a “great source of inspiration”.
CM Adityanath said his government had already signed 18,643 MoUs worth Rs 32.92 lakh crore at the ongoing GIS. “Whatever UP managed to achieve in the past six years was on the basis of PM Modi’s mantra of ‘reform, perform and transform’,” he said. “Historically neglected areas of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand have drawn investments of Rs 9 lakh crore and Rs 4.2 lakh crore respectively.”
