NEW DELHI: Union minister of railways, communications and electronics, and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Economic Times Global Business Summit (GBS) 2023, on Saturday said that locally developed 4G and 5G technology stack has drawn interest from over 9 countries making India a potential telecom technology exporter.
“There are at least nine or 10 countries which want to try it out and it will be rolled out soon,” Vaishnaw said, adding that the stack is ready and will soon be deployed.
He said, “We have a solution where you can create population scale solutions, which are tested on platforms. Just like payment platform, like healthcare, like home, like identity, each of these individual items are powerful in themselves, but combined together, they can help solve any major problem in the world.”
The minister also spoke about 5G, launched by the PM Ways in October, and mentioned that “within the first 100 days, over 200 cities have been covered, and that is the fastest deployment happening anywhere”.
