BC Will Travel To Des Moines For NIVC Championship

Chestnut Hill, Mass – Boston College will get set to travel to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa for the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. The match will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m ET. More broadcast and streaming information will be available as soon as possible.

The Eagles are in the midst of in all likelihood their best season in program history, setting the single season wins record with 23, the previous record was 20 which had only been achieved on two other occasions,  winning more postseason matches then they have ever have in program history and reaching their first postseason championship game in program history, in 2004 led by former BC Head Coach Andrea Leonard and in 2019 led by current BC head coach Jason Kennedy. Coach Kennedy also broke the all time career coaching wins record in BC Volleyball, he now holds 81 breaking the previous record of 80 held by Andrea Leonard.

The Drake Bulldogs coming into Wednesday nights match they have gone 30-7 overall on the season and 16-2 in conference play. In the MVC tournament they beat UIC 3-0 and lost to UNI in five sets. So far in NIVC, Drake has been red hot, losing just two total sets (both to Weber State) and has wins against Weber State, Grand Canyon, Pacific, and Davidson.
