NEW DELHI: A Delhi court has sent Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on a woman co-passenger during an international flight to 14-day judicial custody.
Mishra was arrested by the Delhi Police from Bengaluru and brought to Delhi for production in court.
Delhi Police had sought 3-day custody of Mishra for interrogation and identification by the pilot and crew of the concerned Air India flight. But the court turned down the request and ordered judicial custody of Mishra.
Shankar Mishra is accused of urinating on a woman co-passenger, a senior citizen, in an inebriated condition in the business class on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi on November 26 last year.
The Delhi Police registered an FIR against him on January 4 on a complaint given by the woman to Air India.
Meanwhile three Air India crew members on Saturday joined the investigation at the Indira Gandhi International Airport police station here in connection with the case.
Their statements will help police to establish the sequence of the alleged event that took place on the flight last November, an official said.
