Actress-activist Swara Bhasker’s sudden registered marriage on February 16 and the choice of life partner may have taken the public and her friends by surprise. But for Swara’s liberal parents and her brother Ishaan, her decision to marry was taken in the right spirit.

“No fuss no questions, Swara’s parents have always supported all her life and career choices. Her marriage was no different. They have always believed in giving her the freedom to make the right decisions,” says a source close to Swara.

Happily, Swara’s husband Fahad Ahmad gets along famously with Swara’s parents.

“It is said that an Indian marriage happens not only between two individuals, but between two families. Swara and Fahad have found themselves an additional family through their mutual alliance,” says the source.

To celebrate their daughter’s marriage Swara’s parents are all set for two days of celebration in Delhi on March 15 and 16. The card, a work of art designed by Prateeq and illustrated by Anupam Arunachalam, announces “Ira and Chitrapu Uday Bhaskar request the pleasure of your company as they present their daughter Swara and son-in-law Fahad Ahmad.”
