Director Rohit Shetty has given the audience some of the most rib-tickling comedy films and high-octane actioners. A bunch of movies in his repertoire are multi-starrer and to create the magic on the screen, hundreds of technicians work behind the camera. Ahead of the release of CircusRohit Shetty, in a chat with Bollywood Hungamaopened up on how he handles keeping his entire team on the same page during the shooting.
EXCLUSIVE: Cirkus director Rohit Shetty says making memories is more important than one Friday: “Even the vanity guy should know what scene is being shot”
When asked to shed some light on his mantra, the Singham director asserted, “It’s like a family. If you stay with your brother, mother, and father, you know the attitude. If there is an issue in the family or if there is a time you need to be quiet or this is the time you can have that leverage of having fun at home. The same goes for my team. They have been with me for years now and our culture is like I want even the vanity guy to know what scene we are shooting.”
He further added, “We do rehearsals a day in advance where the whole team knows what the scene is and how to support the actor. One Friday the film will release, either it will work or it will not work. What is important is the memories. That’s the most important. When I sit with my team, we just talk about our memories like in Chennai Express we did this, in Simba we did that and during Circus we did that. That’s more important than one Friday.”
Coming back to his upcoming film, Circusit stars Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in a double role. The ensemble star cast of the film also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, and Siddharth Jadav, among others. It is slated to release on December 23.
