RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — People looking for new activities and experiences across Virginia can now access a list covering the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Tourism Corporation has released its What’s New in 2023 guide, which includes information on new and noteworthy spots for travel and tourism for the upcoming year.

According to a release, this annual guide offers a regional look as well as statewide highlights.

One of the biggest things starting this year is marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and the independence of the United States of America.

The Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission will begin celebrations this year and events will continue through 2026.

In Central Virginia, Albemarle County will be marking the opening of two new wineries while the Darden School of Business will be opening its new Forum Hotel.

There is also a new menu trail taking place in Orange County through Memorial Day.
