Mission: Taking charge of your life and health

[ad_1]

You answered the call and fulfilled your mission. Now it’s time to look at what matters most to you. Whole health is about what matters to you most in your life, and it empowers you to take charge and live the life that you want!

Get started on the right foot with the Whole Health Pathway

The Whole Health Pathway consists of partners and volunteers who help you on your journey to whole health. Partners and volunteers include VA employees, Veterans and people in your community who guide you in defining your mission, aspiration or purpose, and setting goals to live your best life.

A two-hour Introduction to Whole Health class provides an overview of the Circle of Health and a look at the Personal Health Inventory. The Taking Charge of My Life and Health course is offered in six to nine sessions and takes a deeper dive into setting goals and taking action.

The Circle of Health and Personal Health Inventory help you look at all areas of your health

The Circle of Health illustrates the big picture connections between your health and other aspects of your life. Whole health opens the door to discuss not only your health conditions but the things that impact your well-being. The equation begins with you, the “Me” at the center of the circle. We start here saying, “I am the expert on my life, values, goals and priorities. Only I know WHY I want my health.” Your story is unique and your whole health journey begins with what matters to you.

The Personal Health Inventory walks you through the eight self-care areas identified on the Circle of Health to help you determine how they affect your health. You will answer questions such as:

  • Are you getting enough sleep at night to refresh your body and mind?
  • Are you eating foods and beverages that will nourish and fuel you?
  • Are you surrounding yourself with people you love and care about?
  • Do you have as much energy and flexibility as you could have?
  • Are you finding opportunities to learn and grow?
