Actor Chanchal’s Chowdhury’s father passes away | Bengali Movie News


Seasoned actor Chanchal Chowdhury’s father, Radha Govinda Chowdhury, breathed his last on Tuesday at 7:50 pm. Chanchal’s father had been undergoing treatment at private hospital in Dhaka after his health condition deteriorated.

The tragic news was later confirmed by Chanchal’s friend, popular Bangladeshi actress Shahnaz Khushi. Radha Govinda Chowdhury was suffering from age related ailments for the past few months. According to reports, his last rites will be taking place at Chanchal’s hometown in Pabna’s Kamarhat in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the popular actor’s recent film ‘Hawa’ (Wind) which is the official entry from Bangladesh for the Oscars, recently released in Kolkata and the initiative makes Chanchal excited as he mooted for more free artistic exchanges between India and her neighbouring country. He is happy that Hawa’ is commercially being screened in West Bengal theatres.

‘Hawa’ tells the story of a group of fishermen in the mid-seas who found a beautiful young woman in their net during a voyage in the deep seas. The movie has been nominated for the Best International Feature Film’ category at the 95th Academy Awards which will be held in 2023.

His yet another much-anticipated web series, the second season of ‘Karagar’ has also started streaming on a popular OTT platform. On the other hand, he is also in talks for a biopic on iconic filmmaker Mrinal Sen. It will be directed by National Award winner Srijit Mukherji.
