Five of family dead, eight injured in MP accident | India News

BHOPAL: Five people of a family were killed and eight injured after their vehicle swerved off the road and slammed into a tree in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday night.
All the victims were from Mawai village, around 100km west of Khajuraho, and were going towards Raj Nagar to attend the funeral of a relative, 28-year-old Ramu, who had hanged himself on Tuesday night. The victims were Ramu‘s paternal uncle Motilal and his family members.
Barely 20km into their journey, their Bolero rammed into a roadside tree. Local residents and police took them to hospital where five of them, including three women, died. Police named the deceased as Motilal, Lakshmi Lodhi, Babulal Lodhi and his wife Prem Baiand Guddi Bai died.
Four of the injured have been referred to Jhansi Medical College, around 100km from the accident site. The other survivors are admitted to Tikamgarh district hospital. The administration has announced a financial help of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of those killed in the accident. The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy.
