For the next ten days, flyers looking to sign up for TSA PreCheck will be able to do so from a pop-up stand at Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport.
The service will last from January 23 to February 3 and is available Monday-Friday from 9:00AM – 12:00PM and 1:00PM – 5:00PM.
What is TSA PreCheck Mobile enrollment?
Scheduled in shoulder seasons to help travelers prepare for busy travel periods later in the year, the TSA PreCheck mobile enrollment center is designed to provide an in-person option to travelers seeking to purchase a PreCheck pass.
“The whole process takes about eight minutes to complete at the airport and if you sign up online that will go by even faster we are doing a great job of getting people in and out quickly,” said Frank Pipia, TSA Coordinator at the Mitchell International Airport.
How do I sign up for TSA PreCheck?
Appointments are made online, or in person, after which travelers can proceed to the pop-up center to complete the paperwork needed to receive PreCheck.
The application fee for PreCheck is $78 for five years and to complete the process at the airport travelers must provide a valid photo ID — preferably a passport.
What are the benefits of TSA PreCheck?
Travelers who have TSA PreCheck won’t have to remove their belts and shoes, or technological devices and liquids, from their bag, when going through security.
TSA PreCheck also has a separate line at participating airports that can be much shorter and faster.
How is TSA PreCheck different from Clear?
The most significant difference between the two is that TSA PreCheck is a government service while Clear is run by a private company.
Clear can often have shorter lines than TSA PreCheck because it expedites the documentation process when traveling. A Clear membership costs runs $189 per year as opposed to TSA PreCheck’s $78 fee every five years.
How is TSA PreCheck different from Global Entry?
Global Entry is also a government service, however, it has the added benefit of providing expedited U.S. customs screening for international air travelers when entering the United States. Global Entry members also receive TSA PreCheck benefits as part of their membership.
Global entry can be acquired for a one-time fee of $100.
When will the next TSA PreCheck Mobile enrollment be?
If you are not able to make it to this edition of TSA PreCheck Mobile enrollment, Mitchell International Airport will also be hosting the event from July 10 to 21 and Oct. 23 to 3.
